이 책은 아시아 지역의 통화 및 금융협력이 수많은 논의만 무성하고답보를 면치 못하는 이유와 그 극복방안을 다루고 있다.
아시아지역 통화 및 금융협력과 관련하여 가장 먼저 고려해 볼 것은 통화 및 금융협력이 실질적으로 필요한지의 문제이다. 여러 데이터들은 이 지역 실물경제 통합이 가속화되고 있어서 경제적 연관성뿐 아니라 경제정책적 상호의존도가 높아지고 있으므로 역내 환율협력과 거시경제적 협력이 무엇보다 중요해지고 있음을 보여주고 있다. (생략)
The paper deals with the questions of why Asian monetary and financial cooperation has not proceeded rapidly even though the countries have discussed this issue for so long and how to overcome this problem.
