본 연구는 ASEAN 주요국의 경제구조변화와 그 요인을 심층적으로 분석함으로써 변화하는 한일 ASEAN 분업체제에 대한 적절한 대응과 아-태 경제협력에 임하는 타국의 입장정립에 기여하고자 한다. 본 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 제II장에서는 1985년 이후 ASEAN의 거시경제 동향과 환율, 자금, 금리 등 주요정책변수의 추이에 대해 알아본다. 제III장에서는 ASEAN의 산업화와 이와 관련된 수출 및 직접투자구조의 변화에 대해 살펴본다. 제IV장과 제V장은 80년대 ASEAN 주요국의 무역정책 및 산업정책의 전개에 대하여 살펴본다. 제VI장에서는 우리나라와 ASEAN 간 무역, 직접투자, 기술협력 관계의 변화를 중심으로 ASEAN 경제의 구조적 변화에 따른 우리의 대응방안에 대하여 고찰하여 본다. 제VII장에서는 주요 연구결과를 요약하고 결론을 맺는다.

본 연구는 이러한 요구에 부응해서 OECD의 성격, 목적 및 활동 그리고 가입에 따르는 의무사항 등을 제Ⅱ장에서 설명하고 제Ⅲ장에서는 후발 OECD 가입국의 하나인 일본의 OECD 가입사예를 소개하며 제Ⅳ장에서는 한국경제의 무역, 외환, 경상무역외거내 및 자본이동 등에 있어서의 자유화 현황을 살펴본 후 그것을 OECD의 자유화규약과 비교하여 한국경제가 OECD 가입시 추가로 자유화해야 할 항목을 분석하였다. 그리고 제Ⅴ장에서는 한국의 OECD 가입여건의 성숙 정도 및 OECD 가입에 앞서 선행되어야 할 조건 그리고 OECD 가입이 초래할 수 있는 득실을 살펴보고 현 시점에서의 OECD 전면가입을 위한 전약 등에 대해서 논의하였다. 마지막으로 제Ⅵ장에서 본 연구의 요약 및 결론을 제시하였다.

본 보고서는 대외경제정책연구원(KIEP) 주최로 "한국과 사회주의 국가간의 관계진전과 남북한 관계 전망에 관한 세미나"의 보고서 및 논평 모음집이다. 현재 사회주의제국은 소련의 페레스트로이카의 영향하에 급속한 정치, 경제 및 사회적인 변혁을 겪고 있으며 이와 같은 소련의 페레스트로이카는 동북아 제국의 관계변화에도 심대한 영향을 줄 것으로 전망되고 있다. 적극적인 북방정책을 실시하고 있는 우리나라의 입장에서 볼 때 소련과 중국 및 동구의 북한과의 관계발전에 깊은 관심을 가지지 않을 수 없으며, 또한 최근 통일의 과정을 순조롭게 밟아가고 있는 동-서독의 통합이 우리에게 주는 시사점을 음미하게 되는 것은 당연한 일이다.
