한-인도 수교 50주년 기념 KIEP-한국외국어대학교-네루대학교 공동 학술 세미나 개최

대외경제정책연구원(KIEP)은 2023년 10월 26일(목)부터 27일(금) 양일간 인도 델리의 자와할랄네루대학교에서 “대전환기 한-인도 협력 현황 및 확대 방안”을 주제로 국제세미나를 개최했다. KIEP와 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소(이하 한국외대), 인도 자와할랄네루대학교 Centre for East Asian Studies(이하 네루대)가 공동으로 주최한 본세미나는 한-인도 수교 50주년을 기념하여 경제, 문화, 교육, 외교 등의 분야에서의 양국 주요 학자 간 교류를 목적으로 마련됐다.

개막 세션은 김찬완 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소 소장과 Alka Acharya 자와할랄네루대학교 Centre for East Asian Studies 센터장의 개회사로 시작하여 장재복 주인도한국대사, Amit Kumar 주한국인도대사의 축사와 이준규 전 주인도한국대사, Tayal 전 주한국인도대사의 기조연설이 이어졌다. 양국 주요 인사들은 한-인도 수교 이후 50년간의 교류를 긍정적으로 평가하고 대전환의 시기에 앞으로의 50년간 양국 협력 확대를 기대한다고 밝혔다.

첫 번째 세션(India-Korea Cultural Relations)에서는 Vyjayanti Raghavan 네루대 교수의 “Social Transformations in India and Republic of Korea since 1990”, 박치완 한국외대 교수의 “Masala movie as a globalization of local culture- Focusing on the analysis of 3 Idiots”, 임근동 한국외대 교수의 “Phonological examination on Siddhamātṛkā of Tripitaka Koreana: Focus on the Origin of Hunminjeongeum, the Korean script”, 구하원 서울대 교수의 “Building New Memories: Princess Heo and Indo-Korean Relations of the 21st Century” 발표를 통해 한-인도 역사적·문화적 관계를 조명하였다.

이어 두 번째 세션(India-Korea Relations in Era of Indo-Pacific Strategies)에서는 Sandip Mishra 네루대 교수의 “Soft Powers of India and South Korea in their Bilateral Relations and Beyond”, 김봉철 한국외대 교수의 “Legal Infrastructure for the Korea-India Relations: Legal Challenges and Prospects for the Mutual Development”, Rajiv Kumar 한국외대 교수의 “Setting a New Agenda for the India-Korea Partnership for Next 50 Years: Exploring Prospects for Semi-conductor Cooperation Amid US-China Chip War” 발표와 함께 인도 태평양 시대의 한-인도 협력 현황 및 전망에 대해 논하였다.

세 번째 세션(India-Korea Economic Relations)에서는 Pravakar Sahoo 델리대 교수의 “India-Korea CEPA: A Critical Evaluation”, 노윤재 KIEP 부연구위원의 “The Demographic Dividend and Labor Market Opportunities in India”, 김경훈 KIEP 부연구위원의 “Unlimited potential: Opportunities and challenges in Korea-India development partnership”, 김미수 한국외대 교수의 “Forging closer Economic Relations between Korea and India” 등의 발표를 통해 한-인도 경제·통상 협력 현황을 점검하고 협력 심화 방안을 논의하였다.

다음날 첫 번째 세션(India’s Foreign Policy in a Changing World)에서는 문남권 한국외대 교수의 “The Growing Advance of India into Latin America”, 홍완석 한국외대 교수의 “The Characteristics and Dynamics of Russo-Indian Relationship: From Perspective of South Korea”, 김시홍 한국외대 교수의 “Multi-polarity, Indo-Pacific and EU-India Strategic Partnership”, 신근혜 한국외대 교수의 “The Image of Thotsakan in Contemporary Thai Society: Focusing on Thai Popular Songs”, Prabir De RIS 교수의 “India and Korea in ASEAN: Engagements and Way Forward” 발표와 함께 인도와 라틴아메리카, 러시아, EU, 태국, 아세안과의 관계 및 관련 대외 정책을 살펴보았다.

두 번째 세션(Way Forward: India-Korea Relations)에서는 Aditi Singh 한국외대 교수의 “Unveiling India and South Korea’s Soft Power Symphony: People-to-People Ties and Beyond”, Satyanshu Srivastava 네루대 교수의 “Korean Studies in India: Current Status and Future Prospects”, Kaushal Kumar 네루대 교수의 “The Rise in K-Content Consumption & Digital Influencers in India”, Manish Kumar Barnwal 네루대 교수의 “Korean Literature under the Umbrella of Hallyu: Scope and Possibility in India”, 최지연 한국외대 교수의 “Marananta(摩羅難陀, 마라난타) and Jigong(指空, 지공): Indian Monks' journey into the Korean Peninsula” 발표로 양국의 문화 교류와 영향력 확산 등에 대해 논의했다.

이어진 세 번째 세션(India and International Relations: Lessons for Korea)에서는 Hidetaka Yoshimatsu 리쓰메이칸 아시아 태평양 대학교 교수의 “India-Japan Relations in the Evolving Geo-strategic Landscape: Implications for Korea”, Jozon Angeles Lorenzana 마닐라 아테네오 대학교 교수의 “Exchanging food, knowledge and technology: Possibilities of Filipino-Indian relations and Lessons for Korea”, Le Hang Nga 베트남사회과학원 교수의 “Vietnam-India Political and Cultural Relations: Suggestions for Korea”, Jirayudh Sinthuphan 쭐랄롱꼰대학교 교수의 “Decolonizing India-Thailand Relations: A Lesson-learned for Korea” 발표 이후 인도와 일본, 필리핀, 베트남, 태국 등 각 국가 간 양자관계의 특징과 함께 한-인도 관계에서의 시사점을 파악, 논의하였다.

폐회 세션에서 조충제 KIEP 델리사무소 소장은 ODA 협력 강화와 예측가능한 정상회담의 정상화를 제안했다. 김찬완 한국외대 인도연구소 소장과 Sandip Mishra 네루대 교수 등은 인도에서 한-인도 수교 50주년을 기념하여 대규모의 학술 행사가 성황리에 마무리된 것을 축하하며 추후 학문 및 비학문적인 교류를 통한 한-인도 협력 확대를 기대한다고 밝혔다.
