    Summary
    This paper analyzes the competitiveness of Korean products in the EC import market and takes a variety of views on its role in global economic order and medium-and long-term trends in EC trade policies. In this regard, the paper makes some policy recommendations for Korea-EC trade relations.

    The composition of this study is as follows. Section II reviews the trends and trade environment of the EC. Section III-VI examines the evolution of EC's import structure (III), its structure of compatitive advantage(IV), a possessory rate of Korean products in the EC's market (V) and a degree of export competitiveness toward the EC(VI). Through such analysis, some strategies and directions for trade in the EC are expected. In addition, Section IV forecasts the priority of the U.S regional trade policymaking process in accordance with the changes in the global economic order. Section VII contains the summary and political implications.
