Economic integration, Exchange rateDownloadContentSummaryTen new EU member states expect to join the EMU and introduce the euro in the foreseeable future. However, acquiring membership to the EMU requires the capability to conduct good exchange rate policy in the ERM II for at least two years prior to the EMU membership. This is done in order to obtain credibility in monetary policy.
