On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) convened the "The 1st Annual Meeting of the 2024 KIEP Research Advisory Committee" at the Sejong Center in Seoul to discuss the research goals and directions of KIEP in 2025.

Former KIEP presidents, Jang-Hee Yoo (2nd), Kyung Tae Lee (4th&6th), Choong Yong Ahn (5th), Il Houng Lee (8th), and Jung Taik Hyun (9th) participated in the committee as research advisors. They diagnosed recent environmental changes in the global economy, such as the decline of the multilateral trade order, the increasing strategic competition between the U.S. and China, and the rise of emerging economies, and provided opinions on research topics that KIEP should pursue.

President Siwook Lee of KIEP said, “KIEP will actively incorporate the opinions gathered from the committee into its 2025 business plan and cover other research topics that require timely responses through various projects.”
