The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) hosted a 2023 IEFS-EAER-APAEM Conference on "China-Korea Economic Cooperation and Development and the Future of Globalization" on December 21, 2023 at the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat’s Meeting Room in Seoul. This seventh seminar was jointly organized by KIEP's East Asian Economic Review (EAER) Editorial Board, the Korea Chapter of the International Economics and Finance Society (IEFS), and the Asia-Pacific Association of Economics and Management (APAEM).

The conference consisted of three keynote speeches and two roundtable sessions. Soyoung KIM, Vice Chairman of the Korean Financial Services Commission, and Zhiyong DONG, Vice President of Peking University, delivered opening remarks. Chul CHUNG, Vice President of KIEP, delivered a welcome address, while Minister Kun FANG from the Chinese Embassy in Korea and Hee-sup LEE, Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, delivered congratulatory speeches.

As the keynote speakers, Distinguished Professor Keun LEE at Seoul National University, presented on 'From Catch-up to Convergence of the Korean Economy and Innovation Systems: A Schumpeterian Perspective.' Professor Yuesheng WANG at Peking University, discussed 'Changes in China-Korea Economic Structure and Supply Chain Reconstruction,' and Professor Biliang HU at Beijing Normal University, presented on 'Emerging Markets: The Rising New Economic Power and the Global Economy.'
