KIEP hosted a special session at the 2023 Asia Economic Community Forum on November 3rd (Friday) at 1:30 PM. The international seminar took place at the Orakai Hotel Lily Hall in Songdo, Incheon, under the theme of "Northeast Asia Regional Cooperation Index."

The seminar aimed to discuss regional cooperation and the formation of economic communities in Northeast Asia in the era of U.S.-China competition. Researchers from the organizing institutions presented the results of a two-year study on the development of the Northeast Asia countries' Regional Cooperation Index model. Economic indices were presented by Ji Young Moon, Head of the Chinese Economy and Trade Team at KIEP, and non-economic indices were presented by Professor Sunghoon Park of Korea University. Professor Sung Kyum Cho of Chungnam National University, Dr. Jihye Shin of the Taejae Future Consensus Institute, and Professor Richard Pomfret of Johns Hopkins University participated in the discussion, exchanging diverse opinions and discussing effective ways to utilize the model.
