Participants from KIEP and Bank Indonesia Institute, including KIEP’s Chief Economist Sungbae An and Bank Indonesia Institute’s Executive Director Yoga Affandi, had comprehensive and detailed discussions on export promotion policies for SMEs, bilateral economic cooperation, and regional macroeconomic issues.

Nam Seok Kim, Associate Research Fellow in the Southeast Asia and Oceania Team, introduced flagship export promotion policies for SMEs organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of Korea. In addition, he shared research outcomes about the efficacy of export promotion policies for SMEs in Korea.

Kyunghoon Kim, Associate Research Fellow in the India and South Asia Team, presented key areas of Korea-Indonesia cooperation. He elaborated on opportunities and concerns in nickel-sector industrialization, Indonesia’s capital city relocation, and patient capital for development.

KIEP's Chief Economist Sungbae An and Bank Indonesia Institute’s Executive Director Yoga Affandi shared opinions on regional macroeconomic issues and how two nations should derive the optimized reactions. Furthermore, they agreed that the two institutes need to expand cooperation to improve their understanding of regional economic threats.
