Senior Vice President Chul Chung highlighted the many opportunities for cooperation between the U.S. and Korea, not only in supply chains but also in emerging core technologies. He also urged the U.S. government to provide clear policy guidance to ensure that Korean companies do not suffer amid intensifying U.S.-China competition, with the aim of eliminating uncertainty and fostering a market-friendly environment.

Minister-Counselor Andrew Herrup stated that he is well aware of South Korea's expectations and concerns in the process of cooperation between the two countries. He mentioned that measures delaying export controls on advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment for Korean semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, which operate factories in China, are expected to be extended. It was also agreed to institutionalize trilateral cooperation between the U.S., Korea, and Japan through the upcoming trilateral summit, emphasizing that this cooperration will continue in the future.

Senior Vice President Chul Chung and Minister-Counselor Andrew Herrup agreed that both the U.S. and Korea need to explore concrete cooperative measures to address various challenges such as supply chain resilience, energy security, cybersecurity, and economic coercion.
