On April 12, 2023, the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) and the ASEAN-Korea Centre jointly hosted the 'ASEAN-Korea Trade and Investment Roundtable 2023', which marked its third annual event this year. The event was held virtually via the ASEAN-Korea Centre's YouTube channel due to COVID-19 precautions. The theme of this year's roundtable was 'ASEAN's Perspective on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and Korea's Indo-Pacific Strategy'. The participants discussed the possibility of connecting Korea's Indo-Pacific Strategy with the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and explored future economic cooperation between Korea and ASEAN.

The opening ceremony was graced by Hae-yong Kim, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre; Heungchong Kim, President of KIEP; and H.E. Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman, Ambassador of Indonesia to Korea (Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul). The keynote speakers were Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN Economic Community, and Sungil Kwak, Director of the Economic and Security Strategy Department, who presented on the 'AOIP' and Korea's 'Indo-Pacific Strategy'-related economic cooperation.

In the subsequent roundtable discussion, expert panelists from KIEP, KIET, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) discussed cooperation plans in the areas of digital trade, climate change, and supply chain.
