The seminar was designed to promote research cooperation and network between key national research institutes in the two countries. 

The event began with opening remarks by Vice President Sung-Chun Jung of KIEP, and Vice President Bi JiYao of AMR, followed by a keynote session and three thematic sessions. Vice President Sung-Chun Jung of KIEP explained in his opening remarks that Korea and China should strive to maintain and develop the free trade order amid rapid change in the global trade environment. He also stressed that Korea and China should jointly seek solutions to maintain trade and investment momentum together despite these changes in the trade environment.

At the keynote session, Jin Kyo Suh, Senior Research Fellow of KIEP, delivered the first presentation under the theme of "Korea's current status and prospects for multilateral economic cooperation." In the first session, Jukwan Lee, Associate Research Fellow of KIEP, and Sang Baek Hyun, head of the Chinese Economy and Trade Team, continued with presentations under the theme of "Recent Trends and Prospects of WTO Negotiations: Korea's Position" and "Korea-China Economic Trade Cooperation: Focusing on Digital Trade." 

In the second session, Soo Hyun Oh, Associate Research Fellow of KIEP, presented an analysis of the main contents and implications of the RCEP. In the third session, Wonho Yeon, Associate Research Fellow of KIEP, presented under the theme of "Global Supply Chain Change and Measures to Expand Korea-China Economic Trade Cooperation.“

Zhang ZheRen, Deputy Director General of AMR's Foreign Economic Research Institute, participated and announced the "Status and Prospects of China's Multilateral Economic Cooperation." Other speakers from AMR, including Dr. Yuan Qian, Dr. Yao ShuMei, Dr. Jin RuiTing, and Dr. Li ShiGang attended the seminar as well.

Together with Professor Hyuntai Lee of Incheon National University and Professor Bong Kyo Seo of the Dept. of Chinese Language & Literature at Dongdeok Women's University, researchers at KIEP and AMR attended the meeting online and offline to share various opinions seek ways to expand cooperation between Korea and China.
