KIEP 31st Anniversary Ceremony
The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) celebrated its 31st anniversary on January 15 (Friday) at its headquarter at the Sejong National Research Complex.
KIEP has grown together with the Korean economy and established itself as a leading national research institute since its launch in 1990, introducing new perspectives on Korea's foreign economic policies and presenting realistic alternatives.
This year’s ceremony was held simultaneously online and offline, and was attended by President Heungchong Kim, Vice President Sung-Chun Jung, and executives and employees, to commend the excellent research achievements of the past year.
President Heungchong Kim said in his commemorative speech that 2020 had been a year of many difficulties and challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the dedicated efforts of all KIEP members in their work had allowed the institute to overcome the crisis.
President Kim also stated his hopes for normal life to be restored in 2021, but added that new perspectives and mindset will be required in the new international situation and global economic environment, urging all KIEP members to seek wisdom through collective intelligence.
