The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) held the 10th Korea-Iran Cooperation Forum with the Center of Excellence for International Economics (CEIE) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at 9:30 a.m. on December 15, 2022 (local time) to mark the 60th anniversary of Korea-Iran diplomatic relations.

KIEP has hosted the Korea-Iran Cooperation Forum every year since 2013, and this year's forum discussed cooperation between Korea and Iran from various perspectives under the theme of "Industrial Policies and Business Opportunities between Korea and Iran in the Era of Green and Digital Transformation".

The event was attended by domestic Middle East and economic experts such as Vice President Jung Sung-Chun of KIEP, Deputy President Lee Kwon Hyung of the Center for Area Studies of KIEP, Director Seyed Komail TAYEBI of CEIE, Dr. Zahra ZAMANI of CEIE, Professor Park Hyun-do of Sogang University, and Dr. Kim Kyung-ha of Korea Eximbank.

In his opening speech, Vice President Jung Sung-Chun explained that the relationship between South Korea and Iran is currently in a difficult situation, and it is time to discuss ways to promote mutual cooperation. Vice President Jung also explained that Iran and South Korea share the goal of securing a national growth engine to adapt to the huge wave of changes such as green and digital transformation.
