The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) is organizing this year's KIEP Association of Area Studies (KAAS) Conference, held annually in joint with associated societies in area studies, to expand the research base in emerging regions and strengthen regional research capabilities.

Marking its ninth anniversary this year, the 2022 KAAS Conference will be held at the Sono Calm Yeosu on October 21 under the theme of "Emerging Economies in the Great Transformation: Challenges and Task."

During the conference, KIEP will be hosting an Opening Session, in addition to sessions hosted by various academic societies and a new session dedicated to up-and-coming scholars in the field to discuss the challenges facing the international community in the era of the Great Transformation.

No prior registration will be required to participate in the conference, with the Opening ceremony and Opening session to be broadcast live on the KIEP YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/kiepinfo). We ask for your interest and participation in the proceedings.
