We are delighted to invite you to the Conference on the Road to Prosperity - Northeast Asian Financial Hub, which will be convened in Seoul on December 15, 2004. Organized by the Presidential Committee on ortheast Asian Cooperation Initiative, together with the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, the conference is being held to commemorate the first anniversary of the Northeast Asian Financial Hub Initiative by the Roh Moo-hyun government.

The conference is designed to evaluate the one-year achievements of the initiative and to discuss its future policies and prospects. We expect the conference to serve as a useful forum to exchange new policy ideas and information for the development of a regional financial hub in Korea. The conference will be dealing with several interesting topics related to the initiative. They include the promotion of the asset management industry, development financing for Northeast Asia, competing models of financial hub strategies, effective strategies for developing and internationalizing the domestic financial market, financial
regulatory and supervisory system reforms, and human resource development for the financial and banking sector. We sincerely hope that you can join our efforts to develop a regional financial hub in Korea by attending the conference and sharing your insights with us.
