This study proposes a strategic framework for the optimal placement of Electric Vehicle (EV) Fast-Charging Stations (FCS) in Thailand, addressing the rapid growth in EV adoption and the lag in necessary infrastructure development. Employing a ‘Tri-Phase Approach’ that integrates the Multi-period Arc Cover-Path Cover Model (MACPC), Freeway Traffic Capture Method (FTCM), and Load Distance Technique (LDT), the research identifies optimal locations, and the number of charging stations required based on EV sales data, traffic patterns, and existing fuel station proximity. The findings offer critical insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders to optimize public assets, enhance the EV charging network, and support the nation’s transition to low-carbon energy. This framework is positioned to bridge the gap between EV adoption and infrastructure, contributing to Thailand’s efforts in meeting global emission targets.
