[경제] The Limits to Growth of India’s Garment Industry
인도 국외연구자료 연구보고서 - Economic & Political Weekly 발간일 : 2024-08-24 등록일 : 2024-09-06 원문링크
The garment industry is one of the largest generators of manufacturing employment in India, especially for females. It accounted for 19% and 37.8%, respectively, of the total and female manufacturing workforce in the country in 2021–22. Nevertheless, India is far from realising the full potential for growth offered by this industry. India’s share in the worldwide exports of garments stagnated at around 3.1% over the two decades since 2005, even as China, Bangladesh, and Vietnam have made much bigger gains in this industry.
