The 2020 Global Korea Fair, hosted by the National Research Council of Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences and Korea Land & Housing Corporation and participated by a total of 150 government departments, public organizations, and national research institutes, including KIEP, was held at The-K Hotel for three days from December 9 (Wednesday) to 11 (Friday).

 

The fair was designed to share the achievements and best practices of international cooperation conducted by Korea so far and to establish a platform for sharing and cooperation in international cooperation projects promoted by each institution to become a leading country in the post-COVID-19 era.

 

Representatives from various organizations, including President Heungchong Kim, attended the declaration ceremony, announcing the vision of "Korea, a leading country that contributes to peace, prosperity and sustainable development of the world," based on inclusive multilateralism for international cooperation. Participants also declared their intent to conduct public diplomacy that pursues universal values, such as peace, human rights, democracy, and sustainable development.

 

During the Fair, KIEP hosted the 3rd day “Korea-Europe Cooperation” and “Korea-ASEAN Cooperation” sessions to discuss Korea-EU economic cooperation, Korea-ASEAN inclusive economic cooperation for the establishment of a win-win community, and ASEAN social and cultural cooperation in the post-COVID-19 era.
