The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) is organizing this year’s KIEP Association of Area Studies (KAAS) Conference, held annually in joint with associated societies in area studies, to expand the research base in emerging regions and strengthen regional research capabilities.

Marking its eighth anniversary this year, the 2021 KAAS Conference will be held at the Busan Port International Exhibition Convention Center (BPEX) on October 8 under the theme of "The Changing U.S.-China Relationship and Responses of Emerging Economies in the Post-Covid-19 Era."

 

During the conference KIEP will be hosting its own session, in addition to sessions hosted by various academic societies and a new session dedicated to up-and-coming scholars in the field, to discuss the challenges facing the international community in the post-COVID-19 era and promising countermeasures.

 

No prior registration will be required to participate in the conference, with the opening ceremony and KIEP session to be broadcast live on the KIEP YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/kiepinfo). We ask for your interest and participation in the proceedings.
