[경제] Perspectives on diversity and equality in Bangladesh

The purpose of this chapter is to present a review of the diversity and equality context in Bangladesh using three different dimensions - the Constitution of Bangladesh (1972), empirical research by management scholars, and the global gender gap index (WEF, 2020). The core findings suggest that a) although Bangladesh Constitution guarantees equal rights, there is evidence of inequality based on sex, religion, and ethnicity; b) empirical research on diversity by management scholars is somewhat limited; c) the predominant focus of research concerning diversity and equality till date is on gender equality (or inequality) and other diversity aspects or intersections of multiple dimensions of diversity have not been adequately addressed.
