The seminar on “Economic Cooperation between East and West Germany and Post-Unification Development Policies: Implications for Korea” will be hosted by the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) on December 12th, 2018 at Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul.
This seminar is based upon a research project “Korean-German Economic Research Network on Unification”, which was initiated by the Korean and German governments' finance ministries, Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) in Germany, recognising the need for cooperation in sharing economic policies in preparation for Korean unification.
In this seminar, which marks the fifth year of the Korean-German Economic Research Network on Unification, researchers from KIEP and IWH will present their research on the following subjects. We will have the opportunity to explore the economic cooperation between East and West Germany prior to unification, policies to rebuild the East German economy after the unification and their implications for the Korean Peninsula. Korean unification specialists in government, academia and research institutes will also share their insights through in-depth discussions.
We look forward to welcoming you at the seminar.
