East Asian Economic Review (EAER) editorial board cordially invites you to the 2018 IEFS-EAER Conference; jointly organized by Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), Korea chapter of the International Economics and Finance Society (IEFS), and Department of Economics, Seoul National University on June 19, 2018 in Korea. The theme of this year’s conference is “Global Economy in Turbulent Times: Challenges and Opportunities in Trade and Finance”.

The EAER editorial board initiated this IEFS-EAER Conference upon the establishment of IEFS-Korea regional chapter in 2016. Professor Jeffrey Bergstrand and Mario Crucini, 2016 and 2015 IEFS Presidents, gave keynote speeches to celebrate the inaugural conference. Starting off with a successful initiation, 2017 Conference invited scholars from the U.S., China, and Japan, aiming to promote international participation. A number of invited speakers have submitted papers based on their presentations to the journal and among them six papers were selected for publication in EAER so far.

Following the success of last two years’ conferences, the EAER editorial board is delighted to invite you to the 2018 IEFS-EAER Conference. This year we invited Samuel Kortum(Yale Univ.) and Charles Engel(Univ. of Wisconsin) as a keynote speaker. They will deliver an insightful speech as the world faces unprecedented challenges with protectionism as well as opportunities in the rapidly changing global trading architecture.

We look forward to your participation in the conference.
